Finding True Love on The Internet
The sheer size of the world wide web would seem to make it impossible to find anything or anyone, let alone finding true love. Thanks to search engines, facebook and online dating services, finding someone to love is easy.
It’s easy to find true love online, but it isn’t always safe. Information and photos can be falsified, so it’s important to use a reputable method to meet singles online. Here are four tips for navigating dating websites and dating blogs, such as this one!
- Screen dating sites through people you know. Check before you click. And double-check before you pay money. Be cautious of sites you’ve never heard of who offer free trials in exchange for way too much personal information. The only person you want to share all that with is your one true love!
- Don’t tell yourself, “I can’t find love. I’ll never find my soulmate.” That sets you up as a desperate dater, and you will either scare people away with your pleas for affection, or you will settle for a single who is less-than-worthy of your love.
- Stay away from online dating communities where the clients look exceptionally young for the age they claim to be. If you were to get caught in an illegal relationship with a minor, you would still be held responsible even if you didn’t now their real age.
- Once you find the perfect dating website, and you narrow it down to a couple of people you want to meet in person, make sure you talk to them for a while first. Use email and talk on the phone. A person’s voice tells you a lot about them. When you meet for the first time, do it in a very public place.
Always follow your heart, but listen to your gut. If something doesn’t feel right about the dating site or person you are thinking about connecting with, then call it off early. It’s always better to be safe than sorry.
